During a party meeting, Park emphasized that reshuffling personnel in the Blue House should not serve as an excuse to overlook the need for a special prosecutor to investigate Kim’s alleged wrongdoings. He expressed concerns that failure to address these issues would undermine public trust in the government.
Park also urged the prosecution to bring charges against Kim Kuhn-hee, stating that turning a blind eye to her alleged crimes would reflect poorly on the credibility of the legal system.
The call for a special prosecutor comes amidst growing scrutiny over Kim’s involvement in various scandals, including stock manipulation, interference in political appointments, and favoritism in public contracts.
It is expected that further discussions on the matter will take place during a parliamentary audit of the High-Level Corruption Investigations Office in the near future.
