North Korea: Artillery Ready to ‘Open Fire’ on South within 80 Characters

Kim Jong-un’s Sister Warns of “Horrible Disaster” in Response to South Korean Drone Activity

Following allegations of drones dropping propaganda leaflets over Pyongyang, Kim Jong-un’s sister has issued a warning to Seoul, stating that any provocation will result in a disastrous outcome. The North Korean military has been ordered to be ready to open fire on South Korea in response to these incidents, as reported by the state-run KCNA news agency.

The tension between the two Koreas has escalated, with North Korea placing artillery units along the border on high alert. This move is in response to alleged drone activity carried out by the South, which the North considers a grave provocation and an infringement on their sovereignty.

In light of these developments, the potential consequences of a conflict are dire. With over 10,000 artillery pieces in place along the border, a RAND Corporation report estimates that more than 205,000 people in South Korean cities could be killed within an hour if war were to break out.

This latest incident comes on the heels of North Korea testing a new ballistic missile and tensions rising from joint military exercises between the US and South Korea. The situation remains precarious as both sides navigate the delicate balance of power on the Korean peninsula.
