Nawaz optimistic about improving relations with India’s Modi soon

PML-N President Nawaz Sharif expressed hope for improving relations with India and meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In an interview with Indian journalist Barkha Dutt, Sharif expressed his support for good relations with India and his desire to revive the strained relationship.

Despite not appearing on camera, Sharif conveyed his wish for Modi to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Pakistan, where India’s Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is scheduled to participate. This summit could provide an opportunity for the leaders to meet.

Sharif emphasized the importance of normalizing ties with neighboring countries, including India, Afghanistan, and China. He recalled previous visits by Indian prime ministers to Pakistan and urged for a shift from hate to hope in shaping the destiny of South Asia.

While Pakistan and India have a history of strained relations and territorial disputes, Sharif’s optimistic outlook on bilateral ties reflects a potential for renewed dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
