A fire broke out at a public cargo working area in Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong on Monday, causing thick smoke to fill the sky. Starting at 5:06pm, the blaze quickly escalated, leading to authorities upgrading the seriousness level by 6pm.
Spanning 400 square meters and involving six containers on Hoi Fai Road, the fire fortunately resulted in no casualties or evacuations as of 8pm. The intensity of the flames was classified as a No 3 alarm on a scale of one to five.
Firefighters utilized three jets and three teams with breathing apparatus to combat the blaze, with an additional four fire engines dispatched to the location. The government’s prompt response and coordination helped contain the fire and prevent any harm to individuals or nearby structures.
