UN launches second round of polio vaccinations for children in Gaza
The United Nations is set to begin the second round of polio vaccinations for children in Gaza. Around 590,000 children under the age of ten will receive the vaccine in an effort to prevent the spread of the disease. This initiative follows the discovery of the first case of polio in 25 years in the closed Palestinian territory. The World Health Organization emphasizes that more than 90% of children need to be vaccinated to control the disease. Local health authorities, along with UNICEF and UNRWA, will be leading the mass vaccination campaign.
UK foreign secretary to discuss Middle East with EU counterparts
