Iraq’s President rejects using its territory as a base for attacks on Iran

Iraqi President Rejects Use of Territory for Attacks on Neighbors

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid has emphasized that Iraq is against the use of its territory as a “launch pad” for attacks on neighboring countries, especially Iran. He also condemned any violation or aggression against Iraqi cities and villages. Rashid made these statements during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in response to Israel’s threats following a recent missile attack by Iran.

Iran had launched a series of missiles towards Israeli military and intelligence bases in response to targeted assassinations by Israel. Rashid urged immediate action to halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon and end the ongoing conflicts in Gaza. He stressed the importance of resolving regional crises through diplomacy and highlighted the strong historical and religious ties between Iran and Iraq.

Araghchi reiterated Iran’s commitment to international peace and security, condemning Israel’s aggression against Lebanon and Gaza. He called on regional countries to unite against Israel’s crimes and prevent further escalation of tensions. The Iranian foreign minister’s visit to Iraq is part of a regional tour focusing on promoting stability and security in the Middle East.
