Revolutionizing Gas Imports in Iraq: Al-Faw Grand Port to Host New Platform
Exciting news has emerged from Iraq’s South Gas Company, revealing plans to sign a contract for the establishment of a cutting-edge gas imports platform at the Al-Faw Grand Port in southern Iraq. This groundbreaking initiative is set to diversify gas supply sources and facilitate surplus gas exports, marking a significant step forward for the country’s energy sector.
With the technical assistant of the South Gas Company, Majid Al-Shawaf, confirming the upcoming contract, the project is well underway. The platform will feature state-of-the-art storage tanks and a transmission pipeline covering a whopping 100 kilometers with a capacity of 1,000 million cubic feet.
Following the approval of Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani, construction is set to commence, making this platform the first of its kind in Iraq’s oil and gas industry.
