Iran welcomes all projects to expand ties with Azerbaijan

In a recent meeting with Azerbaijan Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafa, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the significance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries based on their historical and cultural ties. Pezeshkian reiterated the importance of respecting each other’s territorial integrity and emphasized the Iranian government’s commitment to solving security issues in the region through cooperation rather than external interference.

He stressed the need to expedite the implementation of agreements between Iran and Azerbaijan, while also advocating for increased communication and exchanges between Islamic countries. Pezeshkian underlined the importance of open markets and collaboration among Islamic nations to enhance security, peace, and prosperity in the region.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafa expressed Azerbaijan’s willingness to expand economic and trade relations with Iran, in line with President Ilham Aliyev’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. Mustafa also invited Pezeshkian to participate in an upcoming international meeting on climate change in Baku, further demonstrating Azerbaijan’s commitment to collaboration.

Overall, the meeting between Iran and Azerbaijan reaffirmed the shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and strengthening ties across various sectors, including energy, agriculture, and transportation.
