The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Yayari Mohammed as the factional acting National Chairman with the aim of restoring hope and unity within the party. Mohammed expressed his commitment to rebuilding confidence among party members and ensuring the party performs effectively at the national level. He emphasized that his leadership would strictly adhere to the party’s constitution and treat all members fairly regardless of their status.
Identifying the lack of effective opposition within the party due to personal conflicts, Mohammed vowed to prioritize the party’s agenda over individual interests. He called for urgent action from PDP members in the North-Central zone to nominate a candidate for the position of substantive national chairman. Moreover, Mohammed announced plans to convene a long-overdue National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to address crucial issues within the party.
By focusing on restoring member confidence, promoting unity, and adhering to democratic principles, Mohammed aims to revamp the PDP and create a strong opposition force in Nigerian politics.
