The ongoing feud between ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula and Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi continues to stir up controversy, with discussions around “rogueness in the ANC” taking center stage.
Earlier this month, Mbalula called Lesufi to Luthuli House to address his “anti-government of national unity” comments. Despite Lesufi providing an explanation that seemed to appease Mbalula, tensions remain high.
In a recent interview with eNCA, Mbalula made it clear that he would not tolerate any form of “rogueness” within the party, pointing out Lesufi’s behavior and warning against actions that could undermine party unity.
Mbalula emphasized the importance of discipline within the ANC, stating that any campaign against the party’s leadership would not be tolerated. He stressed the need to uphold the principles of democratic centralism, where decisions made by higher structures must be followed by lower structures.
