Smooth Transition: Edo Government Calls on Governor-Elect to Form Transition Team
By Ozioruva Aliu
The Edo State Government has taken a proactive step towards ensuring a seamless transition of power by urging governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo to initiate the formation of his transition team. In a letter dated October 10, 2024, the Secretary to the State Government, Joseph Eboigbe, emphasized the importance of establishing a transition team to facilitate discussions and information sharing between the incoming and outgoing administrations.
Governor Godwin Obaseki had previously inaugurated a transition committee to oversee the transfer of power . The Edo State Government is committed to providing the necessary support for an effective transition process and has proposed an inaugural meeting for the transition committees on October 14, 2024.
As the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Okpebholo consider their response to the request, the focus remains on setting a solid foundation for a successful administration that meets the expectations of the constituents. The collaboration between both parties is crucial for continuity of governance in Edo State.
