Exciting News from Baku, Azerbaijan! President Ilham Aliyev has approved a decree to amend the ‘Regulation on the Electronic Water Management Information System (ESTIS)’. This decision shifts the responsibility for organizing and maintaining the ESTIS system to Azerbaijan’s State Water Resources Agency.
Under the new decree, the Agency will now play a crucial role in ensuring the effective use of the system, as well as inputting relevant data into the system regularly. Additionally, the Agency will report to the Cabinet of Ministers on the system’s progress annually.
By serving as both the owner and operator of ESTIS, the State Water Resources Agency will streamline access to crucial water management information, making it easily accessible through the “electronic government” information system.
This shift marks a significant step towards enhancing water management practices in Azerbaijan and underscores the government’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in the management of water resources.
