Australia imposes sanctions on 5 Iranian officials tied to missile program

The Australian government has taken action against five Iranian individuals involved in the country’s missile program targeting Israel. This move comes after Iran launched 180 missiles at Israel on October 1, posing a threat to regional and international security.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong condemned Iran’s support for proxies launching attacks in the region and supplying ballistic missiles to aid conflicts. The sanctions target key figures in Iran’s Aerospace Industries Organization and related groups.

The Australian government has now sanctioned a total of 200 Iran-linked individuals and entities, aligning with actions taken by the US, Britain, and the European Union. These global efforts aim to curb Iran’s destabilizing activities.

These coordinated sanctions send a strong message to Iran and emphasize international unity in addressing threats to global security.
