Armenia urges Azerbaijan to promptly unblock connections to resume cooperation

In response to false accusations made by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry regarding Armenia’s supposed negligence in fulfilling obligations under the 9 November 2020 trilateral statement, the Armenian Foreign Ministry has provided a detailed rebuttal. Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan addressed the claims in an interview with Armenpress news agency.

Badalyan highlighted the discrepancies in the implementation of the trilateral statement, emphasizing that key provisions, such as the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, the return of displaced persons, and the exchange of prisoners, have not been fully realized by Azerbaijan. She also clarified the responsibilities outlined in the statement, including Armenia’s role in organizing the passage of cargo, vehicles, and persons within its territory.

Furthermore, Armenia proposed a roadmap for fulfilling its obligations and urged Azerbaijan to initiate the process of unblocking transport and economic infrastructures in the region as stipulated in the trilateral agreement.
