Androulakis reelected as PASOK leader, promises to break New Democracy’s stronghold

Nikos Androulakis, the reelected leader of PASOK, delivered a message of unity and vowed to end the dominance of the New Democracy party in Greece. After defeating his rival Haris Doukas in the runoff election, he emphasized the need for significant changes through unity against conservatism.

Androulakis pledged to revitalize the National Health System, protect incomes and labor rights, and ensure affordable housing. He extended an invitation to all citizens dissatisfied with the government’s policies, emphasizing his fight for a more just society.

The runoff saw Androulakis secure 59.9% of the vote, with Doukas receiving 40.1%. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis congratulated Androulakis, indicating a desire to meet. Despite criticism, Doukas vowed to remain active within the party, continuing to fight for the principles and values of a strong, open PASOK.
