River Rescue Forces to the Rescue
On Sunday evening, River Rescue Forces recovered a body, bringing the death toll to two. The Minya Security Directorate and emergency services quickly mobilized to the scene to assist.
Egyptian National Railways Authority Statement
The Egyptian National Railways Authority determined that the collision was caused by an engine hitting the sleeper train. Emergency measures were taken, and the train was detached to continue its journey to Cairo.
Minster of Transport’s Response
Minister Kamel al-Wazir assigned officials to investigate the technical causes of the accident. The Minya Public Prosecution office also launched investigations and authorized the burial of deceased individuals after identification.
Despite the injuries sustained, most individuals were discharged from hospitals after receiving medical care, with one undergoing surgery. The community now waits for answers as the investigations continue.
