In a recent political development, the leader of the main opposition party, Han Dong-hoon, made strong statements regarding the need for reform within the presidential office in South Korea. He emphasized the importance of removing any influence of Kim Gun-hee, the first lady, from the presidential office. Han Dong-hoon iterated that the public should not be misled into thinking that Kim Gun-hee holds an official position, as she does not.

Following his remarks, there has been speculation in the media about a group called the ‘Han Nam-dong 7,’ which includes former and current presidential aides. Despite this, Han Dong-hoon denied any specific knowledge about this group, stating that his focus is on reform rather than targeting specific individuals.

While Han Dong-hoon’s public remarks have caused some division within his own party, he remains committed to initiating necessary reforms for the benefit of the people. As he prepares to meet with President Yoon Suk-yeol next week, Han Dong-hoon stressed the importance of aligning government actions with public sentiment to restore trust and credibility in politics. The journey towards true political reform, according to Han Dong-hoon, involves active engagement with the concerns and expectations of the people.
