이재명, 김광동에게 “미친 거 아니냐” 강하게 비판

In a recent meeting, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee Jae-myung, expressed outrage at claims made by Kim Kwang-dong, chairman of the Commission on Truth and Reconciliation, suggesting North Korean involvement in the Gwangju Democratic Uprising in May 1980. Lee criticized Kim for perpetuating the theory of North Korean intervention, stating that it undermines the truth.

During a government audit session, Lee also condemned various statements made by government officials that distort historical facts, such as the Minister of Employment and Labor referring to Korea’s nationality during the Japanese colonial period as Japanese. Lee emphasized the need to eliminate officials who engage in historical distortion and disregard the spirit of the constitution.

Lee called for the immediate removal and apology of officials making inflammatory remarks and pledged to swiftly pass legislation preventing individuals who support pro-Japanese activities or deny Korea’s territorial rights from holding public office. The Democratic Party has adopted a position of not appointing individuals who have engaged in such behaviors to government or public positions to prevent the rise of historical negationist forces. The party is committed to safeguarding the integrity of Korean history and national pride.
