In the lead-up to the upcoming by-election on October 16, political parties are intensifying their efforts in the key battleground of Busan’s Geumjeong district. Leaders like Cho Kuk, head of the Cho Kuk Party, and Lee Jae-myung, head of the Democratic Party, are rallying support for their candidates, emphasizing the importance of this election in shaping the political landscape.

Cho Kuk, responding to Lee Jae-myung’s call for support, traversed Geumjeong district, urging voters to make a statement on the current ruling coalition. Meanwhile, Han Dong-hoon, head of the main opposition People Power Party, shifted his focus from criticizing Lee Jae-myung to targeting Cho Kuk. He criticized Cho Kuk’s campaign strategy of alternating between regions, suggesting it does not benefit the electorate.

With Geumjeong district becoming a pivotal battleground, the by-election is gaining attention for the intense political maneuvers within the parties. Both sides are vying for support, with the outcome poised to have significant implications for the future political landscape.
