Ukraine condemns alleged soldier executions in Kursk

The human rights ombudsman in Ukraine has condemned the alleged execution of nine Ukrainian troops by Russian forces in the Kursk region. The drone footage published by the Ukrainian human rights organization, DeepState, showed the dead troops, believed to be drone operators, lying face down in farmland in Kursk. Kyiv has accused Russian forces of executing captured Ukrainian troops, with reports suggesting 93 soldiers were executed since the conflict began. Despite these allegations, the Kremlin denies committing war crimes in Ukraine. As Russian forces continue to attack Ukrainian positions in Kursk, President Zelensky stated that Ukrainian troops managed to repel a renewed Russian advance. The offensive in Kursk has failed to slow Russian momentum in the Donbas region, where Ukrainian forces are being pushed backward by relentless attacks. Russian forces also seized a village near the city of Pokrovsk, a key logistics hub. Russian aerial attacks on Ukraine have also continued, with 68 drones and four missiles launched overnight. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in conflict.
