Trump-linked think tank hacked

The America First Policy Institute, known for its policy proposals for a second Trump administration, recently faced a breach in its computer systems. Although specifics on the stolen materials were not disclosed, the organization confirmed that steps have been taken to secure their systems. According to reports from the Washington Post, federal authorities suspect Chinese hackers to be behind the breach.

Marc Lotter, the organization’s chief communications officer, addressed the situation, stating that it is not uncommon for foreign actors to target their IT infrastructure. The institute, led by Brooke Rollins, Trump’s former domestic policy adviser, has been paramount in the America First movement. Rollins, who denies any discussions about becoming Trump’s chief of staff, remains focused on supporting Trump’s reelection efforts.

The breach comes amidst concerns of election interference by foreign entities. Intelligence officials have warned about such activities, with recent reports suggesting China’s focus on congressional races rather than the presidential election. As threats of cyber attacks continue to loom, organizations must remain vigilant in safeguarding their systems.
