What’s THAAD and Why Might Israel Want Them?

Despite some mixed results in combat, Israel may find it a valuable addition to its defense capabilities. This comes as Israel’s own missile defense systems, like the David’s Sling and Arrow interceptors, have shown limitations in effectively countering Iranian threats.
The US has previously deployed THAAD systems to other countries facing similar security challenges, such as South Korea and Romania. The potential deployment in Israel signifies continued US support for the nation’s defense.
With ongoing threats from Iran, the THAAD system could offer an added layer of protection for Israel’s security.
