Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smeirat, announced exciting news about the amended bylaw to exempt profits of goods and services from income tax for the year 2024. This decision aligns with the Royal directives to make Jordan a “regional center” for the IT sector, reflecting the government’s commitment to a supportive legislative environment for growth and competitiveness.

Smeirat emphasized the importance of this move to enhance the Kingdom’s IT sector, recognizing it as a vital industry and key investment driver in Jordan. The Ministry of Digital Economy aims to work closely with the private sector and conduct extensive studies to identify the sector’s needs for progress.

The proposed amendments will exempt the taxpayer’s net income for exporting IT-related services until 2033, including computer, IT, and outsourcing services. This bold step signifies Jordan’s dedication to becoming a leader in the technology sector.
