Szijjarto Uninformed of Alleged Plot to Kill Orban – Other Media

Recently, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin suggested that an assassination attempt was being planned on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban because of his stance on Ukraine. However, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto clarified that while there are continuous attacks on Hungary and its leaders in various aspects, he has no information about an assassination plot.

Szijjarto highlighted that Brussels is withholding Hungary’s owed funds due to disagreements on Ukraine, migration, and gender issues. Orban has boldly stated that Hungary will not bow down to Brussels’ demands and will defend its own interests. This led to the European Commission proposing a mechanism to freeze 7.5 billion euros in EU funding for Hungary, citing concerns about the rule of law.

Despite Orban claiming that Hungary had complied with the Commission’s requirements, the EU decided to suspend a significant portion of Hungary’s funding. This ongoing dispute reflects Hungary’s firm stance in upholding its sovereignty and rejecting external interference in its domestic affairs.
