Two Men on the Run After Assaulting Elderly Man During Break-In
Two men are currently being pursued by police after allegedly assaulting a 70-year-old man during a break-in at a home in Sydney’s south-eastern suburbs overnight.
Emergency services responded to the incident on Jersey Street in Matraville following reports of a break-in at approximately 11.10pm.
According to police, the suspects confronted a 65-year-old woman before forcibly entering the residence.

During the break-in, one of the assailants violently attacked the 70-year-old victim, resulting in injuries to his head and hands.
After stealing the keys, the suspects fled the scene in a blue Subaru XV.
The injured man was treated by paramedics on-site and later transported to Prince of Wales Hospital in stable condition.
