Tragic Train Crash in Egypt Leaves One Dead and Multiple Injured
Authorities in Egypt confirmed that at least one person was killed and several others were injured in a train crash that occurred in southern Egypt. This marks the second deadly railway accident in the country in just a month.
Details of the Incident
The collision took place in the province of Minya, located about 270 kilometers south of Cairo. A locomotive collided with a Cairo-bound passenger train, causing two railway carriages to fall into a nearby waterway. Despite the missing carriages, the Cairo-bound train continued its journey.
Response and Investigations
More than 20 ambulances and first responders were dispatched to the crash site, with at least 21 injured individuals taken to hospitals for treatment. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, with the locomotive driver detained for questioning.
