PTM Jirga Day 2: Organised and Productive
The second day of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement’s jirga in Jamrud tehsil, Khyber, was a marked improvement from the chaotic first day. Essential amenities were provided to participants, and leaders from mainstream political parties attended in large numbers.
The provincial government fulfilled its promise of supplying tents, a sound system, power generators, drinking water, and food. Attendees from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were accommodated in 60 enclosures overnight.
Key highlights of the day included a documentary showcasing the hardships faced by residents in tribal districts, and selected delegates received survey reports on the region’s challenges. PTM chief Manzoor Pashteen commended the political representatives for their attendance, emphasizing their role as true leaders of the Pakhtuns.
The event was marked by discussions on Pakhtun rights and the challenging circumstances faced by the community. Despite obstacles, the jirga continued to advocate for the rights of the Pakhtun nation.
Health facilities were also provided for the participants, ensuring their well-being during the event.
Overall, the second day of the PTM jirga showcased unity, determination, and a strong resolve to address the grievances of the Pakhtun community.
