Sam Hou Fai has been elected as the chief executive-designate of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), with an overwhelming majority of votes in the sixth-term chief executive election. Ho Iat Seng, the current chief executive, extended his congratulations to Sam for his victory.
The election process, held in accordance with the region’s laws, saw a smooth and orderly transition of power. Ho emphasized the importance of patriotism, governing skills, and community trust for the future leader. He expressed confidence in Sam’s ability to lead the region effectively and continue the “One Country, Two Systems” principle.
After the final results are confirmed by the Court of Final Appeal, Ho will formally request the central government to appoint Sam as the sixth-term chief executive. With a focus on growth and development, the Macao SAR looks forward to a new phase of leadership
