German Flag Carrier Lufthansa Warns of Further Flight Schedule Reductions Due to High Airport Fees
The CEO of Lufthansa, Carsten Spohr, expressed concerns about the increasing airport fees in Germany leading to a decline in services and connectivity. Spohr highlighted the negative impact of unilateral national measures on connectivity, such as a blending quota for e-fuels. These measures, aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, may affect the quality of economic regions in Germany compared to international standards.
Ryanair and Eurowings Cut Services
Ryanair announced the decision to end operations at three German airports and reduce flights from Hamburg and Berlin due to high taxes and fees. Following suit, Eurowings also plans to cut over 1,000 flights by 2025.
