The government of Amman has approved amendments to exempt the net income from the export of certain services from income tax until the end of 2033. Industry leaders believe that this move will boost the country’s digital economy and global competitiveness.
Haitham Ruwajbeh, Representative of the ICT sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the importance of these amendments in strengthening the business environment and attracting investments, especially in ICT.
The Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan approved the rationale for amending the system of exempting export profits on goods and services from income tax for 2024, which will now undergo further legislative procedures.
Ruwajbeh praised the decision to exempt net income from services like IT, economic studies, legal and engineering consultancy, and arbitration as a driver of innovation and market expansion.
He emphasized that these changes aim to improve Jordan’s export balance, create job opportunities, and position the country as a regional hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurial solutions.
This strategic decision reflects the government’s vision of fostering a business-friendly environment that supports investment, innovation, and growth in the ICT sector, ultimately enabling Jordanian companies to compete on the global stage.
