Former Deputy Director at JAMB, Yisa Usman, has made shocking accusations against Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, citing career sabotage and systemic corruption. Usman alleged that he was wrongfully accused of misconduct after raising concerns about violations of laws such as the Money Laundering Act and the Public Procurement Act.
Despite his 26 years of service at JAMB, Usman claimed Oloyede engaged in illegal activities like the disbursement of funds and secret staff recruitment. He also highlighted his transfer to Port Harcourt as punishment for speaking out, despite his disability.
Speaking at a National Conference on Whistleblowing, Corruption, and Human Rights, Usman revealed financial misconduct within the agency, involving violations of laws like the Fiscal Responsibility Act and the Public Procurement Act. The event, sponsored by Amnesty International and the MacArthur Foundation, drew attention to unauthorized accounts, improper payments, and violations of financial regulations.
Despite facing retaliation, Usman remains dedicated to fighting corruption for the nation’s future. His ongoing battle for justice sheds light on the challenges whistleblowers face in exposing corruption.
