This operation follows intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists and terror infrastructure, as well as efforts by Hamas to rebuild its operational capabilities in the area. While the government has not formally adopted a siege proposal, the current operation bears resemblance to the plan presented by retired general Giora Eiland known as “The General’s Plan.”
The aim of the operation is to reset the dynamics in Gaza by forcing all civilians out of the area and cutting off supplies to disrupt Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s strategy. However, the operation has led to intense airstrikes and has forced thousands of families to flee. Basic necessities like food, water, and medical supplies are scarce.
The situation has escalated to the point where hospitals are being ordered to evacuate, and attempts by humanitarian organizations to reach the area have been impeded. This humanitarian crisis in Gaza needs urgent international attention to prevent further suffering.
