Islamabad Gears Up for 26th SCO Summit with Comprehensive Security and Traffic Plan
As Islamabad prepares to host the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on October 15-16, a robust security and traffic management plan has been put in place. Delegations from all nine member states, including China, India, Russia, and Iran, will be in attendance, necessitating stringent security measures.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, has confirmed the finalization of extensive security protocols, with over 9,000 personnel deployed to ensure the safety of international guests. Search operations and tip-off raids are ongoing to mitigate potential threats.
Moreover, a special traffic plan has been devised by the traffic police in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and district administration. Major highways will be closed, and diversions set up to manage traffic flow. Metro bus services will be suspended during the summit.
The SCO aims to enhance mutual cooperation in various fields and promote peace in the region. The upcoming summit is expected to strengthen ties between member nations and foster collaborative efforts across different sectors.
