Nicaragua’s decision to completely sever ties with Israel has been praised by Iran as a strong stance in support of international law and human rights. The move comes in response to the Israeli regime’s ongoing aggression in Gaza, which has led to growing isolation on the global stage.
Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo announced the break in diplomatic relations following a resolution passed by the Nicaraguan Congress. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei commended Nicaragua’s resilience against economic sanctions and political pressure, emphasizing their condemnation of genocide in Gaza and aggression in Lebanon.
Baqaei urged other countries to follow Nicaragua’s lead in severing ties with Israel, calling for international solidarity in halting the regime’s destructive actions. The recent resolution passed by Nicaragua’s National Assembly labels Israel as an “enemy of humanity” and applauds the nation’s support for Palestine, Lebanon, and regional peace.
Iran hopes Nicaragua’s bold decision will inspire other nations to take a stand against Israel’s occupation and crimes, following similar actions by Bolivia and Colombia.
