Reports suggest that the number of summary executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian soldiers has significantly increased in recent times. Yurii Belousov, head of the department focused on war-related crimes, highlighted that at least 93 Ukrainian POWs have been summarily executed on the battlefield, with the majority of cases occurring in 2024. This alarming trend has alerted international organizations such as the U.N. and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
