Germany halts military supplies to Ukraine, according to Bild — RT Russia & FSU

Recent reports suggest that Kiev is unlikely to launch another counteroffensive against Russia anytime soon due to a lack of resources. Berlin has indicated that Germany has already pledged all available military hardware to Ukraine and does not have any additional support to offer.

The German Defense Ministry does not believe Ukraine is capable of liberating its own territory through an offensive in the near future. This includes a halt on sending heavy weapons like tanks and artillery to Ukraine, with a recent €1.4 billion military aid package actually referring to commitments made last year.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has not received permission to use Western-made weapons, such as German Taurus missiles, for strikes into Russia. The last major Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2023 saw limited success, with the lack of progress blamed on delays in weapon deliveries and intel leaks.

Despite escalating tensions, Germany has provided significant military aid to Ukraine since 2022. Reports suggest a halt in new shipments to reduce spending, although both Kiev and Berlin deny this claim. Moscow has warned that Western weapons supplied to Ukraine may prolong the conflict and heighten NATO tensions.
