Greece has the potential to become a significant hub for artificial intelligence (AI) in Southeast Europe, attracting foreign investment and fostering research, according to Professor Christos Tarantilis from EY Greece.

To achieve this, the country needs to focus on strengthening human resources, attracting private investments, and establishing a conducive institutional framework. There is a pressing need to bridge the gap between the market’s demand for IT professionals and the output of Greek universities.

By taking swift and strategic action, Greece can position itself as a key player in AI development, connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa. Tarantilis emphasized the importance of staying ahead of technological advancements in the face of intense international competition.
