Today, eight individuals linked to the violent Drogheda feud are set to appear in court facing charges of drug trafficking and money laundering. These arrests are part of Operation Stratus, aimed at dismantling two criminal gangs involved in the feud that resulted in numerous assaults, kidnappings, bombings, and four murders, including the notorious case of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods.
Since its inception four years ago, Operation Stratus has successfully eliminated gang leaders through arrests, convictions, and even deaths. The latest phase of this operation has led to the apprehension of seven men and a woman from Drogheda, Meath, and Dublin, ranging in age from 26 to 38. Charges include drug possession, importation, gang-related activities, and money laundering.
Despite the demise or exile of key gang members, authorities suggest that the criminal enterprises continue to operate internationally, supplying drugs back into Ireland. The court proceedings today mark a significant step in the ongoing effort to disrupt organized crime in Drogheda and bring these perpetrators to justice.
