Bethlehem Palestinian Prisoner Muhammad Musa Dies at Soroka

A Sad Day for Bethlehem: The Tragic Martyrdom of Muhammad Munir Musa

The Palestinian community was shaken by the news of the tragic martyrdom of prisoner Muhammad Munir Musa, a 37-year-old from Bethlehem, who passed away in Soroka Hospital last Friday. The occupation forces informed the Palestinian Authority for Prisoners’ Affairs and the Prisoner Club about his untimely death.

Having been detained since April 20, 2023, this was Musa’s first arrest, and he was held in Ramon Prison until his passing. Married with three daughters, he had no prior chronic health conditions. The circumstances surrounding his martyrdom remain unclear, but the systematic crimes of the occupation, including torture and neglect, have claimed the lives of 40 prisoners since October 7.

The Palestinian Authority and the Prisoner Club hold the Israeli occupation responsible for Musa’s death and urge international human rights organizations to intervene. With the current extermination war escalating, the lives of Palestinian prisoners are at great risk, with over 10,100 individuals suffering in inhumane conditions.

The martyrdom of Musa marks the 41st since October 7, highlighting the urgent need for global action against the occupation’s violence. As the Palestinian prisoners’ movement mourns this loss, it stands united in calling for justice and accountability.
