Drone Attack in Northern Israel: 67 Injured, Hezbollah Claims Responsibility
Shortly after a drone attack in northern Israel, the number of injured has reached 67, as reported by the Times of Israel. Among the victims, four are in critical condition, while five are seriously wounded and 14 are moderately hurt. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility, targeting an Israeli military camp with its drones.
The situation escalated when Israeli tanks breached the gates of a UN peacekeeping force base in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military reported that 115 rockets were launched by Hezbollah into Israel, with attacks on various settlements. In response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack, Israel is preparing a “painful, precise, and surprising” reaction.
Hezbollah accused Israel of using prohibited cluster munitions in southern Lebanon, violating international conventions and endangering civilian lives. Amidst the escalating conflict, UN peacekeepers warned against a potential catastrophic regional conflict. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s call to relocate UN peacekeepers away from the border.
