US evacuates 1,000 citizens from Lebanon through Turkey

Amidst the escalating war in Lebanon, the US government has facilitated the departure of over 5,000 citizens and residents since September 28. This includes securing airplane seats on commercial and government-organized flights. The State Department is also providing on-site consular services and emergency loans for relocation. Despite a Level 4 advisory warning against travel to Lebanon due to various risks, the US Embassy in Beirut continues to offer essential services.

Americans Evacuated via Turkey

In the past week, more than 1,000 Americans and their dependents have been evacuated to Turkey on US chartered flights. While Israel intensifies its actions against Hezbollah, evacuation efforts have focused on utilizing flights via Turkey as the quickest and safest method. Consul General Julie Eadeh emphasized the importance of air departures given the dynamic security situation.
