Ukraine’s Drone Revolution Speeds Up

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense recently announced the certification of over 140 new unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and 33 unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) for military use in the first nine months of the year, showcasing the growing strategic importance of drones in modern warfare. Col. Volodymyr Rochniak emphasized the rapid increase in significance of UAV systems on the battlefield and the extensive array of UAV systems being manufactured by Ukrainian weapons manufacturers. These new developments meet the varied needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, from kamikaze drones to reconnaissance UAVs, incorporating advanced technologies for resistance to electronic warfare and radar detection.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Gen. Oleksandr Syrsky, recently discussed the operations of new UAV units during a video conference, aiming to accelerate the deployment of unmanned systems in response to evolving challenges.
