Humanitarian Crisis in Jabalia Refugee Camp: Urgent Action Needed
Residents of the Jabalia refugee camp have been facing a dire situation as essential food and water supplies have been cut off for the seventh consecutive day. Israeli military offensives in the northern Gaza Strip have intensified, leaving approximately 200,000 citizens in the Jabalia area struggling to survive.
In a statement, spokesperson Mahmoud Basal of the Civil Defense in Gaza emphasized the urgent need for a humanitarian corridor to allow aid to reach those in desperate need. The ongoing Israeli aggression has led to a humanitarian disaster, with nearly 42,200 people killed and over 98,300 injured, mostly women and children.
The Israeli army has imposed a tight siege on Jabalia since October 6, following an escalation of violence in northern Gaza. Despite the UN Security Council resolution for an immediate cease-fire, Israel continues its brutal offensive, displacing almost the entire population of the Gaza Strip.
It is imperative that the international community takes action to address this crisis and prevent further loss of life in Gaza. Our collective efforts are needed to provide assistance to those who are suffering the most.
