Pyongyang claims of drone infiltration; North Korea flies 20 balloons, 10 land in Cheorwon.

North Korea has been sending trash balloons to South Korea, with about 20 balloons drifting across the border into Gangwon-do, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). The balloons carried mostly paper and plastic waste, posing no immediate threat to safety. This comes after North Korea’s recent declaration accusing South Korea of flying drones over Pyongyang and spreading anti-North propaganda.

In response to the provocative statement, North Korea swiftly launched the trash balloons within an hour, marking the 28th time this year. The South Korean military is closely monitoring the situation as tensions rise between the two Koreas.

The trash balloon issue highlights the ongoing tensions and provocations between North and South Korea, showcasing the delicate balance in the region. As the situation escalates, the international community is watching closely to see how both countries navigate these sensitive challenges.
