Recent Surge in Dengue Cases in Punjab

The Punjab Health Department reported 149 new cases of dengue in the last 24 hours, bringing the total for the week to 997 and the 2024 tally to 3,285. Rawalpindi has been the hardest hit with 134 cases, followed by Bahawalpur and Lahore. Other cities also reported cases.

To combat the spike, the Punjab government declared a health emergency in Rawalpindi where a district emergency response committee was formed. The health department urged the public to maintain clean surroundings to prevent the virus spread and emphasized the importance of vigilance and preventive measures.
