Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Visits Zvartnots Airport to Inspect Armenian Border Guards
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently visited Zvartnots airport to oversee the work of the Armenian border guards in the wake of Russian troops withdrawing from the airport. This move marks a significant shift as Russian border guards had been stationed at the airport for decades until the Armenian government asked Moscow to remove them by August 1, 2024.
Pashinyan expressed confidence in Armenia’s ability to independently manage border control operations at Zvartnots airport. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of adapting to the new reality and ensuring the security of the airport through local resources.
