Norwegian Defense Ministry Establishes Military Cooperation Role in Ukraine
The Norwegian Defense Ministry has appointed a military cooperation position between the two countries at the office of the military attaché in the embassy in Kyiv. Norwegian Prime Minister Bjørn Arild Gram highlighted the importance of this move, emphasizing the need for collaboration between Norwegian and Ukrainian scientists and industries in defense innovations and industrial development.
Gram expressed the need for significant investments from the Norwegian private sector to support Ukraine’s defense industrial base. He mentioned the willingness of Norwegian companies to contribute their knowledge, experience, and solutions to help enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The Norwegian government has already allowed the transfer of defense technologies to Ukraine, benefitting manufacturers like Nammo.
Denmark is also exploring plans to establish a fund aimed at bolstering investments in the Ukrainian military industry. The growing support and cooperation between these European nations and Ukraine signify positive steps towards strengthening defense capabilities and fostering innovation in the region.
