Nicaragua ends ties with Israel due to Gaza atrocities

Nicaragua Cuts Diplomatic Ties with Israel Over Gaza Genocide

Nicaragua has announced the decision to sever diplomatic relations with Israel in response to the ongoing genocidal war in the Gaza Strip. The conflict, which has claimed the lives of over 42,000 Palestinians, has prompted the Central American nation to take a stand against the Tel Aviv regime.

The move comes as part of a resolution passed by Nicaragua’s Congress, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the Gaza war. Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo, speaking on behalf of President Daniel Ortega, condemned Israel’s actions as “fascist” and “genocidal.”

This is not the first time Nicaragua has cut ties with Israel, having done so in both 2010 and 1982. The decision aligns with a broader trend of Latin American leaders condemning Israel’s brutalities in Gaza, with countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Chile voicing strong opposition.

As Israel faces mounting isolation on the global stage, the rupture of diplomatic relations with Nicaragua adds to the growing backlash against Israel’s actions in the region.
