More New Routes Added to Mostar’s Carrier Network

SkyAlps and Mostar have signed an agreement to base one of its Dash 8 turboprops at Mostar Airport and launch new routes. This partnership follows a successful bid in a tender offering subsidies for aircraft basing. SkyAlps currently operates seasonal flights to Mostar from Rome, Munich, and Verona.

Under the agreement, SkyAlps will maintain flights to eight destinations, including Stuttgart, Bari, Naples, Catania, and Palermo. Verona will be replaced with a new route. The emphasis on the Italian market stems from Mostar’s large number of Italian visitors, mainly religious pilgrims.

The Mayor of Mostar praised the airport’s growth, with an expected 40,000 passengers this year across six routes. The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton government has allocated funds for SkyAlps’ base. SkyAlps’ General Director expressed gratitude for local support, highlighting Mostar’s enormous potential.

Mostar Airport aims to serve 65,000 passengers next year, up from 44,000 in 2024. Air Serbia and Croatia Airlines will continue services, with discussions ongoing with Pegasus Airlines for flights from Istanbul. SkyAlps, founded in 2021, plans to expand its fleet and routes, connecting over twenty European cities.
