The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, commended the Sokoto State Government for its support of the Armed Forces and other security agencies. During a ceremony at the Sokoto State Government House, 10 operational vehicles were handed over to military forces deployed in the state.
The donation, which included 8 Buffalo trucks and 2 Toyota Hilux vehicles, is part of the state government’s collaboration with the Federal Government’s security initiatives in the North-West region. This contribution follows a previous donation of 100 operational vehicles to combat banditry and insurgency.
Matawalle praised the state government for its dedication to national security, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in securing the nation. The vehicles will enhance the mobility and operational capacity of security forces in the region.
The General Officer Commanding 8 Division expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the recent successes in neutralizing bandit leaders through coordinated operations. Matawalle received an operational briefing from the Air Component of Joint Operation Hadarin Daji, lauding their effectiveness in disrupting bandit activities.
